05 PETROGLYPH POSTCARDOct 2024
Print
4” x 6” in
Cardstock
Acrylic on Clay Sculptures
A postcard with two hand-sculpted and hand-carved petrgolyphs that illustrate self portraits. These are intended to be sent back to their homeland, Puerto Rico.
It is a response to Monica Flaherty Frassetto’s “A Preliminary Report on Petroglyphs in Puerto Rico” (1959), which goes over the geographical, archeological, technical, and symbolic attributes of Taíno petroglyphs. The reply is a self-submission to the process of rock carving through the lens of The Taíno.
